'Game Of Thrones' Theme Song Covered By Lindsey Stirling And Peter Hollens

Violinist Lindsey Stirling and singer Peter Hollens return to the world of geek videos with a lovely rendition of the ‘Game of Thrones’ title song.

When Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens collaborated on their Skyrim theme song cover video, the two musicians performed every aspect of the song.

In their latest geek violin and voice cover of HBO’s Game of Thrones title song, the artists rack up a total of 140 tracks using just one violin and one voice.

Those drums you hear? That’s Hollens’ unorthodox beat-boxing.

I’m not sure which Game of Thrones character Hollens is supposed to be in the video (and I’d rather see if anyone has a good guess before I go asking around) but Stirling is quite obviously Daenerys Targeryen.

I like the chess symbolism, given how much the books and television show hinge on court politics and deception. All told, it’s a great video and lovely cover of the HBO theme song.

But I don’t like it quite as much as their Skyrim cover. Maybe that’s just because the vocal element felt so much more at home in Skyrim, which already has in its music a strong vocal element. Or maybe I’m just being nit-picky for absolutely no reason. Who can say?

Be sure to check out my profile of Stirling and read about her experience pursuing a music career on YouTube. It’s pretty neat. And I’ve included a number of other videos which you can also see at either Stirling’s or Hollens’ YouTube pages.
