TWIST Chats With Midnight Red!

Hey TWIST girls,

TWIST recently hung out with Midnight Red, an awesome new boy band! They just finished touring with the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block! Eric, Anthony, Colton, Joey and Thomas spilled about their music, what it's like to tour with BSB and NKOTB and more! You can download their EP and their single, "One Club at a Time" on iTunes! Follow them on Twitter and "Like" them on Facebook!

TWIST: Can you describe your music for people who might not be as familiar with you? Your style and just your music as a band?
Colton: We have really catchy melodies. It's a lot of the beat-driven music. It's very radio-worthy. However, this is stuff you're going to want to get up and move to. When you see us on stage, that's what we're going for. We're very active on stage. We want to be as fun about it as possible, however we all have different styles of singing. Joey's going to throw in some smooth R&B onto these pop melodies and it's going to create a unique listen.

TWIST: What makes you different from other boy bands in the past or today?
Anthony: We are five individual characters. We come from different walks of life. We like different things, different foods. We dress differently, different styles going on. I think it's not the typical five guys wearing all white. It's totally different.

TWIST: So you have to tell us a little about what it's like doing the tour with New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys!
Eric: It's been surreal, the fact that we've been placed on this tour, the opportunities we've been given. It's three generations of boy bands in the house. You have New Kids that started everything and Backstreet that just blew up in the late '90s, and then every ten years or so comes along a boy band, and we're trying to be that third generation or fourth generation boy band. We get on stage, and it feels literally like three seconds later we're off. It goes by so fast, yet so slow.

TWIST: What were some of the best highlights of the tour? Was there any particular venue or city that was your guys' favorite?
Thomas: For me, I think every city had its own very special moment. It was exciting to get to meet all the fans of Backstreet and New Kids from different parts of the country. It was entertaining to see the different accents, but what was so cool was that no matter what part of the country they were from, they all had this common love for Backstreet and New Kids. They knew every lyric, and for me that was cool.
Joey: Throughout each venue and each city we went to, what really stood out to me was the generosity and how nice the New Kids and Backstreet Boys were to us... Just the fact that they were so inviting really meant a lot to us.

TWIST: Do you have a best or worst first date memory?
Colton: My first real girlfriend - we were going to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas and I sat there for like 45 minutes thinking, "Okay, just grab her hand. I can hold her hand. I can do this, I can do this." And I found out like a year later into our relationship that she saw me the whole time, the whole 45 minutes, looking at her hand, and she moved it closer and closer and closer for me to do it.
