Return to The Pretty Reckless

The Pretty Reckless Headline At Track 29

Monday, May 8, 2017 - by Patrick O'Hagan

Them Evils made their Chattanooga debut opening for The Pretty Reckless at Track 29 Sunday night. It was nice to see a new group with their roots in solid rock n' roll. The three piece band from Orange County, Ca. played a loud and aggressive set heavy on screaming guitar riffs.

Guitarist/vocalist Jordan Griffin, joined by Jake Massanari on bass and David Delaney on drums, played like rock veterans. Like most openers, not many people in the crowd knew who they were; but that didn’t stop the trio from giving it all they had.

Them Evils played a hard set of rock that livened up the Sunday crowd. The group recently released a new music video for “She Got Nothin.” They also treated the audience to an unreleased song entitled “Got Me Rockin.”

The Pretty Reckless took the stage around 10 before an eager audience. The band has been on the road touring in support of their newest album, Who You Selling For. They were just in Atlanta on Wednesday night opening up for Soundgarden; their Scenic City show, however, was their own headlining concert.

The Pretty Reckless – Taylor Momsen (vocals), Ben Phillips (guitar), Mark Damon (bass), and Jamie Perkins (drums) – have had a string of radio hits that have built them a steady following. With tracks like “Take Me Down,”  “Heaven Knows,” and “Make Me Wanna Die,” the setlist was pretty stacked for the New York City rockers.

Summer 2017 is going to be a full schedule for The Pretty Reckless, who are continuing their touring to include Rock on the Range, Lollapalooza, and Rock in Rio. After another supporting show with Soundgarden, they’ll open for Godsmack in New Jersey, and then be back out headlining on their own.
