The Pretty Reckless roared onto the O2 ABC stage last night in a sold out show in Glasgow.

The band, fronted by former actress Taylor Momsen, brought an impressive set of old hits and new singles on the tour for their most recent album, Who You Selling For?

With several top ten hits already under their belt, there was never any doubt that this tour would bring a storming show.

Kicking off with track Follow Me Down, the band took to the stage with a confidence usually seen in much more experienced bands.

Taylor Momsen was a force to be reckoned with, blasting the crowd away with her impressive range and husky tone.

Kitted out in her trademark black, she strutted the stage like she owned it, headbanging along to every track.

The mostly female crowd were putty in her hands, literally hanging on her every word.

Cries of “We love you Taylor” were as much a part of the music as the band’s guitar was.

The band kept the tempo up, slipping into Since You’re Gone before switching it up with single Oh My God from their most recent album.

Most famously known for her role in hit TV show Gossip Girl, Taylor Momsen proved that she has come far from her days of singing as little Cindy Lou in The Grinch. This was far from a pretty, dainty gig.

In fact, the new album, Who You Selling For, proves just how much the band has changed in recent years.

With tracks deeply rooted in old blues and driving guitar riffs, the album highlights the band’s evolution from their early days.

This show certainly had less of the shock factor that the Pretty Reckless were so well known for when they first started out, and more of a focus on the actual music.

Old tracks in this performance were given a more confident facelift and the Pretty Reckless had a much tighter sound overall.

Fan favourite Make Me Wanna Die sent the crowd into a frenzy as audience members even began to sing the song for the band.

The gig turn a funny turn when guitarist and co-writer Ben Phillips proclaimed his love for Loch Ness.

Ben said: “I f****** love Loch Ness. I’d like to live there.”

Taylor added: “You obsess over it. It’s almost sad.”

The band then performed a killer rendition of My Medicine, with Taylor even throwing her own guitar into the mix.

The Pretty Reckless didn’t drop a beat, moving from Sweet Things to the title track from their first album, Light Me Up.

Ben Phillips showed off some killer vocals and a tasty guitar solo in the extended outro for Sweet Things.

Drummer Jamie Perkins and bassist Mark Damon were solid foundations for the band. Literally even when front woman Taylor Momsen went back to back with Mark Damon.

Kicking things up a notch, the band turned back to the Who You Selling For album with Living In The Storm before raising the roof with the song everyone had been waiting for, Heaven Knows.

A definite favourite, this foot stomping anthem is perfect for when all you want to do is rock out and kick ass.
