Kicking off their set, Taylor Momsen belted out the band’s hit “Follow Me Down,”off of their 2014 “Going to Hell” album. Momsen’s raw and grungy vocals and the band’s slashing guitar riffs both captivate and punch you in the gut all at once. The set weaves through the success The Pretty Reckless have had these past six years. It’s hard to know which songs are old and which are new, for they all flow and blend into a killer show. Fans sang every word to their first hits, “Make Me Want to Die” and “Medicine.” Momsen proves she is deserves the praise the band receives with her undeniable stage presence. In some moments she hides behind the mane of blonde hair, letting her words take center stage.

Calling The Pretty Reckless a “powerhouse” band seems like an understatement. There’s not a single moment of the show where you’re not completely in awe of the talent being shared. The encore, “Fucked Up World,” was the perfect send off to an ass-kicking show.

It’s hard not to notice the amount of heavy rocking women in the audience. Momsen has allowed the female fans of hard rock to finally be seen and have a safe space to head-bang, throw horns, and kick ass just like the guys.

The Pretty Reckless currently celebrated another number one hit with the first single off of “Who You Selling For,” ‘Take Me Down.” This milestone marks the fourth consecutive number one for the band, breaking records as the first female-fronted band to have three chart toppers in a row with “Heaven Knows,” “Messed Up World” and “Follow Me Down” This has not been done since The Pretenders in 1984, over 30 years ago. The band is currently the only female-led band on the chart’s top 30 songs.
