•An a cappella group that earned its big break after winning the third season of NBC's The Sing-Off.
•The original trio (Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, and Mitch Grassi) is from Arlington, TX. Kevin Olusola, the beatboxer, is from Owensboro, KY. And the bass, Avi Kaplan, is from Visalia, CA.
•On the penultimate performance of The Sing-Off, Scott completely lost his voice during the dress rehearsal.
•The trio have been best friends since high school.
•The band lives in Los Angeles, in the same apartment complex, which makes getting to rehearsal very easy.
•Kevin learned to speak Chinese fluently after living in Beijing for a year and half during his undergraduate career at Yale.
•In just three days, Scott learned the Korean for the Pentatonix cover of "Gangnam Style."
•Kirstie Maldonado studied musical theatre at the University of Oklahoma.
•Mitch won first place in the Teen Talent Follies competition for his rendition of "Kiss the Air," by Scott Alan.
•Avi won an international male a cappella competition as part of "Fermata Nowhere."
•Scott became obsessed with riffing after listening to Jazmine Sullivan.
•Mitch is an absolute electronic music junkie.
•Avi is a huge fan of luxury cars.
•The group recorded a PSA for The Trevor Project.
