Released on June 26th, “PTX Volume 1” quickly climbed the album charts, reaching #14 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week. The EP, which features a cappella covers of some of pop music's biggest hits like “Starships” (Nicki Minaj) and “Love You Long Time” (Jazmine Sullivan) as well as two original tracks “The Baddest Girl” and “Show You How To Love,” has received praise from fans who have given it a 5 star rating on iTunes.

"When we heard the news, we were all in shock. All five of us have dreamt about making the Billboard charts as an a cappella group, and this shows us that our a cappella music can be a part of the mainstream. We thank all the devoted fans who have turned their ears to our music!" said Pentatonix.

The EP is also Madison Gate Records’ first entry into the Billboard top 15. Formed in 2010 as Sony Pictures Entertainment’s in-house record label, Madison Gate Records offers a studio alternative to a traditional record label. “As an indie label, we are able to act quickly and respond to the individual needs of an emerging artist like Pentatonix,” said Madison Gate Records executive Shelly Bunge. “PTX Volume 1” is the first Madison Gate release to chart higher than #20 on Billboard. Bunge remarks, “We knew the album was going to be terrific, but we are so thrilled at how well it is being received by others.”

“PTX Volume 1” is available on the iTunes Store and through other digital retailers. The lead single and video for “Starships” are out now. Click here to view the Pentatonix Youtube channel:

No strictly vocal act sounds more ecstatic in triumph than Pentatonix, the Texas-based winners of The Sing-Off's third season that sold out Union Transfer on Monday. Euphoric best describes the joyful, self-described "futuristic a cappella" quintet who played before a wildly enthusiastic Philly audience. Philadelphia Inquirer

"To be able to just chill with no recording/production equipment and bust out live, sickly, in-tune harmonies is a daunting feat, but these talented young Sing-Off (winners) pull it off perfectly."-Perez Hilton
