Return to Amanda Palmer

EVR Music News: Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman Pair For Housing Works Event

Dresden Dolls' Amanda Palmer and author Neil Gaiman will take over The Housing Works Bookstore Café (126 Crosby Street, New York, NY) on June 3 to celebrate the release of their book, Who Killed Amanda Palmer. The book, titled after Palmer's September 2008 LP, will be out July 7 and features photos of Palmer "dead" in different situations, illustrating stories penned by Gaiman. (Among them is a shot of the teenage indie-girl trio Smoosh poking a floating Palmer with a stick.)

Palmer will also play an Other Pride Fest show on June 5 at Highline Ballroom, and it's near impossible to keep track of the million other projects on her plate. This weekend she'll perform at her alma mater, Lexington High School in Lexington, Massachusetts, in With the Needle That Sings in Her Heart, an original play inspired by Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. She also is months into her attempt to get dropped from her label, Roadrunner (she'll hear their decision next month), yet she still has time to tweet up a storm.
