LIT LEAD SINGER MIXES ALBUMS BY LEXUS

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Rock bands usually have guitar, bass and drums on their albums but the alt-rock band Lit also owes its new album to a Lexus.

Lit will release its self-title third album next month and lead singer A.J. Popoff says his Lexus auto was crucial to getting the right mix.

He says the band wanted an album that sounded good in the car so he spent hours tooling around in the Lexus trying to find the right mix.

It sounds easier than it actually was. Popoff says he only has a stock sterio on the car so he wasn't able to get the hi-fi found in a recording studio.

But while Popoff credits the car with helping drive the album, he admits he snuck the tapes into a Lncoln when he wanted "a bassier sound."

"Lit" hits stores on June 22 and the first single is titled, "Looks Like They Were Right."
