The brothers in Kongos come from a legacy of music in South Africa — their father is singer-songwriter Jonathan Kongos — and they were exposed to a wide variety of music growing up around the world, including in London and Phoenix. Maybe that’s why songs such as the massively popular hit “Come With Me Now” and new single “I’m Only Joking” are rockers full of influences from African music, Americana and ’70s rock.
Catch the band at 7 p.m. Monday at Sokol Auditorium. Tickets, $21, are available via Ticketmaster.
