HANSON KEEN TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK
31st October 2007 Your Shout

Hanson may be best known for their 1997 hit MMMBop but it seems the brothers - who are still rocking in the States - are now trying to give a little bit back.

Speaking at the LA premiere of documentary Darfur Now, Taylor and Zac told reporters how they were keen to use their fame to do some good.

Taylor explained: "People in any position of influence, small or large I think have a responsibility, and we feel like it's really important"

According to Zac the family have been busy on tour - but raising awareness to poverty at the same time: "We've been touring the country talking about Tom's Shoes which is a company that every time you buy a pair of shoes they give away a pair of shoes to a child in poverty. In about 48 hours the first shipment of shoes is going to South Africa"

Taylor explained how he and his brothers have never been afraid to take a stand: "We've never really been in any particular club, we always liked our own club meaning we were always on the outside and we would never quite fit in any particular box. We're definitely action-orientated, we're not comfortable on the sidelines"
