James Durbin serves as anti-bullying spokesperson

James Durbin will serve as the celebrity spokesperson for an anti-bullying initiative founded by WWE and The Creative Coalition.

James, who let American Idol fans know what a big wrestling fan he was last season, will join several groups in the be a STAR Alliance, as part of an effort to prevent bullying in schools and communities.

"I'm honored to align myself with be a STAR in the effort to change the way people treat each other," the singer said in a press release. "Having been a victim of bullying, I'm excited to share my story and encourage people to put an end to bullying.'"

Durbin begin his advocacy by visiting Los Coyotes Middle School in La Mirada, Calif., today to address 650 students about the consequences and effects of bullying. He'll also appear in STAR public-service announcements that will air this spring during WWE programming.
