With the current political situation, Margaret Cho has plenty of material and inspiration.
"Every day, everything happening with our current administration, there is always something," she said.
At her upcoming show in Fort Collins, she will touch on many political topics from the Trump administration to women's rights.
"You have to write jokes about it. It's the one thing we can do to survive," she said.
Cho will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia, Fort Collins. Tickets are $35.
"It's gonna be outrageous," she said.
Cho is known for her stand-up, roles in TV and film; and off-Broadway one-women shows. She was recently nominated for a Grammy for a fourth time for her album, "American Myth."
"It's always a surprise and it's always a happy surprise," she said of the nomination.
With all the other projects Cho has done and is currently involved in, stand-up is always a priority.
"It's what I really love, it's my real job," she said, adding the atmosphere of live comedy is something not to miss.
"It doesn't compare. It's so electric and exciting to be in the room," she said "Stand-up comedy is meant to be experienced live so it's really important to be there."
Cho is mostly excited for audiences to hear the new material she's been working on.
"I am excited. I feel like I am really hitting a stride and doing the best comedy of my career," she said, "I am thrilled to be out there sharing it."
