Capital Cities at Bayou Cafe

Sometimes (most of the time?) you just don't want to go home, right? Well, Capital Cities will play the capital city on Saturday, immediately following Tulip Fest, for the mother of all after parties.

The Los Angeles combo fronted by Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian perform electronica pop music, perfect for dancing till sunrise. Simonian was born in Syria and raised in Lebanon, then moved to LA, while Merchant is from San Francisco. The pair first started collaborating as commercial writers, which led to their composing original songs, and building up their now quite-popular band.

Songs like the lush, expansive "Safe and Sound" rose to the top of blog charts, as did their more hyper "Kangaroo Court." For some real fun, check out their outer space take on the Prince classic "Nothing Compares 2 U." So if you aren't ready to stop partying after Tulip Fest, know full well that this dance will go on and on.
