Capital Cities Take Center Stage at HOB Boston

October 30, 2014

Capital Cities blasted into Massachusetts' capital the other night (Tuesday, October 28, 2014) when they brought their The Sky is Falling Down Tour (Presented by Forza Horizon 2) to the House of Blues Boston. Opening the show was Night Terrors of 1927 and Sneaky Sound System.

I knew what to expect with Night Terrors of 1927, as I had seen them open for The Colourist earlier this year. However, they've grown greatly as a band in these past six (or so) months, developing a better stage presence and a clearer sound (a very similar sound to The Airborne Toxic Event). Sneaky Sound Systen was a complete mystery; then they hit the stage. Two people. One singer, one DJ. Tons of fun!

I only knew three of Capital Cities' songs going in to this show. I knew they were catchy, and I knew they were upbeat. I didn't quite know what to expect from a live show by this band.

Then they hit the stage (after an extremely corny advertisement for Forza Horizon 2) and made me dance throughout the rest of the night. They had great energy and a setlist designed to keep the whole crowd going non-stop. I could easily forgive them for the Forza ad after catching what they were capable of afterward.
