Return to Bush

Bush/Zen X Four/Kirtland

Another in a late string of releases summarily blurring the line between what's strictly a CD and what's a DVD by including both, the posthumous Zen X Four puts a fitting cap on the career of a band who made an indelible mark on the post-grunge '90s alt. scene.

Compiled videos from Bush's albums Sixteen Stone, Razorblade Suitcase and The Science Of Things commingle with two "making of" special features; one for The Science Of Things record, and another for the video "The Chemicals Between Us." The CD is a gathering of radio performances, including the 1995 set at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas in L.A.

As Gavin Rossdale has moved onto a new project and is getting renewed attention, the timing of this release arouses easy suspicion, but nonetheless, this is stuff that wasn't out there before and is now. For a band with as many fans as Bush had in their heyday, that's probably enough.
