Listen to BBMak's Holiday-Tinged #TBT Mixtape

#TBT Mixtape is Billboard's series that showcases artists' very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. The curated set features the artists' favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.

This week's spin comes from BBMak. The British pop trio -- comprised of Mark Barry, Christian Burns and Stephen McNally -- first debuted back in 1999 with the release of their debut single "Back Here." The pop-rock hit quickly propelled the lads to an international audience, where the boy band stood out in a crowded genre by playing their own instruments live. Billboard even named “Back Here” the 9th Greatest Boy Band Song of All Time in the 100 song rankingearlier this year.

After a 15 year hiatus, the group is back with the recent announcement of a forthcoming third studio LP set for 2019, as well as their first full tour in 16 years. The band partnered with PledgeMusic for the as-yet-untitled project's roll-out, offering up exclusive items like signed merchandise, handwritten lyric sheets, one-of-a-kind polaroids of the band and more. They also spread some holiday cheer last week (Dec. 17) with the release of a cover of Nat King Cole's classic "The Christmas Song."

To fete their return and upcoming major comeback , BBMak are looking back with this week's #TBT Mixtape, capturing a bevy of holiday anthems new and old, curated by vocalist Christian Burns.

"Here is a selection of Christmas songs that I was brought up with year after year when I was a nipper. A couple of Paul McCartney songs in here -- as a child I absolutely loved anything that Paul McCartney did. I remember one Christmas I got a little radio as a gift and before the times of MP3s and Spotify I would take the radio to bed and search through all the frequencies until I found a station that was playing Paul McCartney. “Pipes Of Peace” is one of my all time fave Christmas songs," Burns explains.

"A good mixture of songs here: some very old ones like Bing Crosby -- he is a staple in my parents’ house at Christmas -- and some much newer songs, including 'Christmas Time' by 10 Reasons to Live, which is Ste [from BBMak]’s other project. He played it for me a few years ago and it’s been a staple on the Burns Christmas playlist ever since," Burns adds.

There's also a brand new one from Burns' other project, All Hail the Silence, called "Christmas Upon Winter Hill." "This is a very special song for me, as I wrote it with my dad and got to sing it in the studio with both my parents," he says. "All these songs hold a very special place in my heart and I hope they fill you as full of the Christmas spirit as they do me. Merry Christmas from me and the BBMak boys."
