While the community gears up for Santa Claus, some are equally as excited for pop star and Utah native David Archuleta to come to town.

Archuleta will debut his second Christmas album, "Winter in the Air" to his Southern Utah fans on Dec. 3 at the Dixie State University Burns Arena, headlining what is shaping up to be a busy holiday season for live music performances in southwestern Utah.

The new album is a mix of covers of Christmas classics as well as three original songs co-written by Archuleta.

At just 16 years old, Archuleta's career began in 2008 after he was voted runner-up during the seventh season of "American Idol." At the time, he was the youngest contestant the show had seen.

He gained a loyal following of Utah and LDS fans and also went on to gain worldwide billboard success with the release of his now eight albums.

Archuleta has performed several times in Southern Utah at the Tuacahn Center for the Arts Amphitheater.
