THE ALARM frontman Mike Peters yesterday tuned up for his Snowdon Rocks concert at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd which will benefit from proceeds.
He met doctors, nurses and staff in the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre at the hospital.
Mike, 49, of Rhyl, said: “It was nice to see where the money will be spent. It’s always a pleasure to see the staff whether it’s on a good occasion like today or a bad occasion.
“They always have a smile and a welcome which is very important when you’re on the road to recovery.
“I owe my life to medical science and the skill and dedication of doctors and nurses at two Welsh hospitals – Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and Ysbyty Gwynedd.”
His starts a US tour later this year and The Alarm will soon release their new album Guerrilla Tactics.
Mike had been diagnosed and successfully treated at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and in the Alaw Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, during two battles against chronic lymphocytic leukaemia in 2005 and 2006.
Proceeds from the Snowdon Rocks 2 concert on Saturday, June 21 will go to both centres. The open air concert on the summit will be Mike’s second gig on Wales’ highest peak.
